My Why! Christopher Scott Shares His Passion for Care

Christopher Scott, pharmacy technician at Trinity Health Oakland, shares why he chose to work for Trinity Health Oakland and how it fuels his passion to care for others.

Christopher just recently celebrated his 15-year anniversary as a pharmacy technician, with the last four years spent at Trinity Health Oakland.

“I started my career at a big box retail pharmacy,” said Christopher. “I was blessed when a fellow colleague — my wife — pointed me toward Trinity Health Oakland.”

Christopher supports pharmacists by taking in new prescription orders and dispensing medications to patients. He enjoys serving the community and members of his “Trinity family” alike. 

“I enjoy working for Trinity Health Oakland because of my fellow colleagues — who are from so many robust backgrounds and have diverse approaches to life,” said Christopher. “In my role, I have the opportunity to travel and teach colleagues from other parts of our ministry as well as sister ministries throughout the country. I also like that I’m able to help people through my actions in the pharmacy — I like to think of them more as people instead of patients,” said Christopher.

Christopher’s interest in the human body and health care runs deep. “I once made a clay model of the digestive system for a grade school science project,” said Christopher. “Trinity Health Oakland helps me broaden my general knowledge of health care by providing a medium to learn.”

Outside of work, Christopher is able to recharge by spending time with his wife, stepson and three “fur babies”. He enjoys watching movies, television and he likes video gaming.

“I would definitely recommend working for Trinity Health Oakland,” said Christopher. “It can open opportunities to things you have never thought of doing or help expand your knowledge in whatever interests you.”
