Katie Momber, RN, at Trinity Health Muskegon, shares why she chose to work for Trinity Health Muskegon, since 2012, and how it fuels her passion to care for others.
“I’m able to make a difference in my patients' lives by ensuring a safe recovery from surgery while managing pain effectively, providing emotional reassurance, and making sure patients understand each step of their healing process,” said Katie.
Katie works as a registered nurse on the Universal Care Unit – where patients recover after surgery. Trinity Health Muskegon supports the careers and aspirations of its colleagues – just like it did for Katie.
“I have held a variety of roles that have contributed to my professional growth and clinical experience,” said Katie. “These roles include: patient care assistant, Emergency Room technician, licensed practical nurse, nurse extern, graduate extern and currently, registered nurse. In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am enrolled full-time at Grand Valley State University to further advance my nursing career,” said Katie.
Katie’s education and career are important to her, because they allow her to fuel her passion for providing compassionate care. “I promote comfort through mobility, proper positioning and personal care,” said Katie. “My goal is to make every patient feel safe, cared for and supported as they recover.”
Katie is proud to work for Trinity Health Muskegon. She holds dear the core values that the organization embraces. “Working at a faith-based, patient-centered hospital that serves as a Level II Trauma Center and certified Stroke Center offers a uniquely rewarding experience,” said Katie. “The organization’s mission-driven culture fosters compassion and dignity — ensuring that every patient is treated with respect and empathy.
“As a high-acuity facility, it provides a dynamic environment where nurses are challenged and supported, gaining hands-on experience in complex, fast-paced situations. With countless opportunities for professional growth — including tuition assistance, paid externships, certification support and leadership development — this hospital is deeply invested in helping nurses advance their careers.”
Outside of work and school, Katie can be found on a fishing boat, pulling in the next big one – that didn’t get away!
