LIVONIA – St. Mary Mercy Livonia joins a premier group of organizations that have received Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

The Pathway designation is a global credential that highlights St. Mary Mercy Livonia’s commitment to creating a healthy work environment where nurses feel empowered and valued. SMML’s nurses are an integral part of the healthcare team, with a voice in policy and practice. Pathway nurses are engaged, resulting in higher job satisfaction, reduced turnover, improved safety, and better patient outcomes.

As a Pathway organization, SMML leads the effort to enhance quality of care, patient and nursing safety, and the future of healthcare delivery. We are especially proud of our team for receiving the Pathway designation this year, amidst challenges such as the Epic transition and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nick Nickolopoulos, Chief Nursing Officer at SMML, remarked, “In a year that has been more challenging than any of us could imagine, achieving the Pathways to Excellence re-designation represents just how remarkable this group of healthcare professionals are while showing their commitment to our community. Their dedication, resilience, and bravery continue to shine through as we navigate through this pandemic and celebrate the year of the nurse.”
