Janice Liu, MD

Janice Rebecca Liu, MD is a board certified gynecologic oncologist. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Liu specializes in the comprehensive care of women with gynecologic malignancies, including endometrial, cervical, ovarian, and vulvar cancers. She excels in performing surgical staging, administering chemotherapy, and coordinating multidisciplinaary care to ensure the best outcomes for her patients.

Dr. Liu's educational journey began at Duke University and Princeton University for her undergraduate studies. She then earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at Duke University, followed by a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Michigan.

Her extensive career in academic medicine includes over two decades at the University of Michigan, where she has contributed significantly to research, focused upon the molecular mechanisms of chemoresistance in ovarian cancer. Dr. Liu is also known for her expertise in complementary and alternative medicine approaches in the treatment of ovarian cancer patients, robotic surgery, and cancer staging procedures for all gynecologic cancers. She has received several awards as an outstanding women's health educator for residents and medical students. She currently leads the Michigan Cancer Research Consortium National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (MCRC NCORP) for Gynecologic Oncology at Trinity Health IHA. Her involvement in clinical trials reflects her commitment to advancing treatment options and improving patient care.
