About Us
Established in 2010, The Farm is a Food is Medicine program that provides healthy, locally-grown food and education to address food insecurity and health inequities for all our community members. We have locations on our hospital campuses in Ypsilanti, Pontiac and Muskegon, where we grow vegetables year-round.
Poor nutrition is the leading cause of illness in the United States with over 600,000 Americans dying each year due to diet-related illnesses. The USDA defines nutrition security as “consistent and equitable access to healthy, safe, and affordable foods that promote optimal health and well-being.” Our programs address nutrition security for our community by investing in our regional food system.
