Why I chose to practice in Grand Rapids/Muskegon
I enjoy practicing in Muskegon for multiple reasons. First, I appreciate working in an environment that is so collaborative, especially across disciplines. We approach patient care as a team, each with something unique to offer. It's a good environment for teaching and learning. Additionally, I enjoy working with the patient population in Muskegon.
Hobbies, Personal Interests, etc.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. We like to hike at various parks in the lakeshore area. I also volunteer with a local non-profit organization, and enjoy reading and ice skating.

Geriatrician for continuing care retirement communities including the campuses of Holland Home and Beacon Hill at Eastgate. Medical Director of Beacon Hill at Eastgate. Preceptor for internal medicine residents. Interests include caring for persons with dementia including Alzheimer's disease, as well as preventive care in the elderly.

Why I chose to practice in Grand Rapids/Muskegon
Team practice is the only way to properly service our geriatric population. I love the opportunity to work with our home bound. We have to be innovative and creative in our techniques to honor their health wishes and needs. It gives me a chance to return to taking care of people right "where they are at".
Hobbies, Personal Interests, etc.
I am married and have two grown children who live out of state. I love to travel and especially places I can see while hiking and enjoying nature. I have been a runner since medical school and continue to find it a great way to relax and still keep active. Living on the lakeshore is such a great spot to enjoy these things!
